HaTam Ba'ir (Taste the City), Tel Aviv


A mouthwatering food festival in Park Hayarkon, Tel Aviv. Food vendors from all over the city gathered to sell the best of their menus. From traditional middle eastern cuisine, to contemporary international fares, and of course--typical festival foods like churros, cotton candy and candied popcorn satiated even the pickiest of palettes.

A solitary siren resonates through the morning air and stops everyone in their tracks as the country shares a unified moment of silence memorializing the soldiers we have lost. The siren subsides in waves, elongating the eerie rememinder of life's vulnerability.

Pure Faith






A visit to the holiest site in the world at 1 am.Trekking through the old city, a full moon above, brought us to the Kotel. Illuminated by bright light, the wall stood pale and stoic against the midnight sky. Newly-tied red Kabbalah bracelets adorned the hand that touched the wall as we prayed. Women surrounded us, hands grasping the Tanach with white knuckles. Sobbing and loud silence were the only sounds that penetrated the air. We walked backwards. Scents of mediterranean spices and rose water embraced us as we strolled through the deserted shuk...
